Akiko Kingsbury’s knitted textiles are influenced from a wide range of colours, styles and techniques. A palette embracing Japanese and Asian hues is fundamental to her work, creating a subtlety unusual to western eyes. Raspberry is mixed with cinnamon, turquoise with salmon - colours to brighten the drabness of the city.

Akiko’s designs display a range of different techniques. Blends of stripes, knitted pleats racking and chevrons give striking design and texture to her accessories.

The materials - silk, linen, cotton and viscose. Light and supple.
